Hawzah News Agency (Mashhad, Iran) - Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Mashhad 2017, Capital of Islamic Culture, held at Quds auditorium of the Razavi Holy Shrine, Sayyid Reza Salehi Amiri, Iranian Minister of Culture, referred to the importance of the Muslim Unity and said, “Today in this big gathering, attended by cultural activists of the Islamic world and the state managers and officials, with the aim of religious conversation, the voice of Islamic unification definitely will reach the whole world.”
“Today the unity and solidarity among Muslims of the world can be seen in Mashhad and the world will come to learn that the school of Imam Ridha (as) is the same as the Muhammadan and Alawi School of religious and ethical debate,” he continued.
“Following Imam Ridha (as), who called on Islamic scholars to unification and religious dialogue, we also intend to expand the Islamic thought based on religious common points namely, Quran and the respected Prophet (sawa),”Minister of Islamic Culture and Guidance added.
“The enemies of Islam are spreading Islamophobia by extremism but it will be offset by Muslim solidarity,” he added.
“Currently, while the world is suffering violence more than ever, Muslims are able to expand the way of Islamic conferring, friendship and peace in the world”, Salehi Amiri continued.
Describing Mashhad as the origin of modern religious discourse, he said, “Mashhad has been considered the center of modern religious discourse in the world for a very long time.”
